Council-wide Plans
Resilience Plan
Detailing the council's plans to protect individuals and businesses in our area from a range of environmental, health and economic risks.
Over time Twyning Parish Council will develop a Resilience Plan for the Parish.
Currently there exists an Emergency Committee that will spring into action when an emergency occurs – the last one being when the water main failed and they organised the transfer of bottled water to the elderly and vulnerable in the village.
The main risk the village faces is flooding. Fluvial flooding only affected a small number of houses in 2007, the highest flood experienced in living memory, but the worst of it can from run off from the fields. The Council plan to identify the main streams ditches and waterways and monitor which of these is causing run off to occur. Over time a plan will be formed to manage these issues for the safety of the Village and Parish.
Should any member of the public be interested in taking part in this exercise, their help would be appreciated and they are advised to contact the Parish Clerk
